Fast Food nation has been a very interested book that it’s opened my eye’s in lots of different way’s with fast food, and other food’s in the Super Market. For the essay that we have been issued of Fast Food Nation, the topic that most interests me is The Flavor industry. Growing up I always use to think that the french fries taste would come from the potatoes and the way they are grown; but it’s not. While reading the book Fats Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, I learned that the French Fries have that are sell at Fast Food Restaurants, get their taste from oils mixed in a science lab (Flavor Industry). The oils that are put in the fries have very high cholesterol, and other unhealthy chemicals. But it is not only French Fries from Fast Food Restaurants, other food’s even from our refrigerator can have oil that come from The Flavor Industry, and there not that natural and healthy as they make look. The labels on the processed food’s in our local supermarket may look healthy with farms and nature pictures, but only if we knew where they really come from; we would think twice to eat it. It is also amazing that about 90 percent of the money that Americans spend on food is used to buy processed food. Furthermore I also learned that all the Flavor industry’s want and try their best to be secretive, and not let people know they even exist.
